About the Event: SD Mom’s Night Out Fitness Event 11/17/12

If you have been following my blog, then you know that I have been meaning to share a post about Diet & Exercise.  I have done pretty well with weight loss (I must toot my own horn: nearly 60 lbs lost since my heaviest weight a little over 2 years ago).  The tough part NOW is the last 5-10 lbs!  I admit that I have been slacking as far as exercise & fitness (unless you count tending to a 2 year old boy - which really IS a workout).  Dieting has never been something that I have done (counting calories, limiting carbs, etc.). I really do follow my cravings. I have been successful with cutting portion sizes down and credit that for the majority of my weight loss.  With the upcoming Holidays it is going to be tough not gaining weight - I may as well forget about LOSING any.  I would be happy with maintaining my current weight, for NOW.  I do plan on shedding the 5-10 lbs and I have already signed on for a 30 Day Fitness Challenge which begins in January! Will I have a Bay Watch bod next year? I'm kidding!

I recently attended the SD Mom's Night Out 1 Year Anniversary Party and had a wonderful time. I am sure that I will enjoy the SD Mom's Night Out Fitness Event, IF I survive the physical exertion!  Stay tuned because I will be telling you ALL about it!  Please pray for me that I make it through the hour long workout session!

I would LOVE to hear your tips on staying motivated when it comes to exercise as well as EASY diet/nutrition/healthy eating tips that have worked (is working) for you.

  1. I like your strategy of cutting down portion size. That can really make a huge difference in calories consumed, but still helps to satisfy cravings! I will definitely work on doing that more this holiday season.

  2. I used an online accountability group through calorie count.about.com. It worked wonders to help me understand my nutritional habits better and stay accountable with eating and exercise. Lost those last five pounds, too. :)

  6. Nothing like a Bay Watch photo to get you motivated for exercise.

  7. I've been planning to lose weight since my son was born.....4 years ago! I suck at diet and exercise. I need some motivation, and a work out partner, and a personal chef to help me get slim and trim.

  8. That is such an accomplishment! I just got back running, which seems to really work, and then I really stick to my small portions. I get those pre-made individual salads at the grocery store, because they have the calorie control, and you can just grab one when you're tempted by other things.

  9. Sixty pounds- how fantastic! I just knocked off 10 from eating smaller portions and increasing my workouts. I really let things slip for a while- Thanks for the motivation!

  10. That's excellent girl. My motivation happens with changing it up. If I try to do the same thing for too long, I get bored and then get slack. So I have to keep it interesting. Music is my main exercise motivator. I can't do a thing without it. I really need some new workout tunes. As for eating, out of site out of mind. I shouldn't buy anything junky no matter who I say it for (son & husband) because I WILL indulge.

  11. Congratulation on your weight loss - that is wonderful! My husband lost 75 pounds using Nutri System - I'm not advocating that particular plan, it just worked for him. The key to success is to just stick with it When you do go off your diet, go off in moderation, and then get back on the band wagon. Continued success to you!!
