Lubies=Love 'Em

For my son's recent birthday party we put together goodie bags for the kids with the standard goodie bag fare.  As a special giveaway we raffled off Lubies !  We packaged them really nicely in a celophane wrapped basket and topped it off with a bow. They were cute enough to use as centerpieces.  I wish I had a picture to post! These are SO SUPER CUTE and I had to keep a couple for our son (OK, for me...).

I'm Taking A Trip To Monte Carlo!

This post brought to you by Monte Carlo . All opinions are 100% mine. OK, not really. But I'll be able to check out amazing Monte Carlo scenes while watching the Must See Summer Movie: Monte Carlo ! I know Selena Gomez from watching a load of Wizard's of Waverly Place with my nieces. She also happens to be Justin Bieber's real life girlfriend from what my nieces tells me. What are the odds that I can convince them to hang out with their Auntie to watch this? Grace (Selena Gomez) is an ordinary girl who becomes an accidental princess when a family summer trip to Paris turns into the fantasy of a lifetime. Living like royalty, Grace, along with her two best friends, discovers who she really is -- by assuming another person's identity. The movie will be in theaters on Friday with advanced tickets available through Fandango starting on Wednesday 6/29.  Don't forget to check out the Official Monte Carlo Movie page on Facebook for more details about t

Kids Do The Darndest Things...

As you may know, I am a fairly new mommy. My husband an I have been loving every moment learning about life as first time parents.  We are amazed, amused, and enjoy all of our sons antics.  He really is quite a character.  Even at the tender young age of 12 months his personality is quite entertaining!  Last weekend, our Whirlwind Weekend , we celebrated his first birthday. With a venue full of children of all ages we survived without any meltdowns, stranger anxiety freak-outs, kid fights, injuries, or diaper disasters.  We had a successful first birthday party for our little guy.  Kids really do "do the darndest things"! Finding ways to throw off expectations of adults...With over 20 kids you would kind of expect something to go awry.  Nope. Everyone behaved! Total Concentration - Ignoring Mommy's call for his attention! When it came time to open gifts we thought that our son would be super excited to tear through the brightly colored packages to reveal the hidden

Hanging Out with The Girls

This post brought to you by Monte Carlo . All opinions are 100% mine. Being a new mom has been quite an adjustment.  Making time to "hang out" with friends just hasn't been the same.  Our priorities have changed so drastically.  During my son's birthday party this past weekend, I got to talking with my girlfriends and the topic of spending time together came up.  I have the youngest child of the bunch and have been the least visible with them, understandably so. We are planning to find some time together  very soon.  I am thinking something mellow like lunch and a movie.  I am hoping they are all up for the new Selena Gomez movie Monte Carlo .  If not, maybe I can convince my nieces to hang out and bond with their Auntie!  I love romantic comedies and the movie location shots I'm sure will be amazing! The movie will be in theaters on July 1st.  Advanced tickets will be available on Fandango on 6/29.  I would rather we get our tickets early since it is summer

Whirlwind Weekend

Who else is recovering from the weekend? Please raise your hand! Or at least share your story. For us, we did so much that I don't know where to begin!  I apologize in advance if this post is all over the place.  We took care of last minute preparations for our son's 1st birthday party (that would take me a whole day to blog about).  Just recall your child's first and you'll be exhausted.  We even kept things "simple".  Anyway our son enjoyed his day with our friends and family.  We had a great time together.  No kid fights and no injuries added to the perfect afternoon.  Oops, we forgot the ice cream at home. Well...no one noticed.  Only now we have a huge tub of Bryer's Neopolitan Ice Cream. Hubby and I took Friday off from work to honor our sons birth and our first year of parenthood.  We went on a family date and had a nice Italian lunch after going to Church.  Yes, we had wine and dessert, after all we had so much to celebrate. On Friday even

Scary Moments as MOM

This post brought to you by Walgreens . All opinions are 100% mine. I haven't written about any scary mom moments because up until now we have only experienced one.  Here is my story of my "Scary Moment".  It wasn't anything life threatening, but scary just the same.  For me, I think that a lot of it had to do with the "first time mom"-ness of it and the fact that I was there.  Our son was born on June 17.  On June 30 we brought him in for a "routine surgical procedure".  Since his pediatrician doesn't perform this procedure, a specialist performed it.  The doctor asked us if we wished to be present during the procedure. Without hesitation we agreed to be there.  The worst thing for a 13 day old mom is to hear her 13 day old newborn baby cry as loud as he possibly could.  Up to that point I had only heard very tiny cries that were so easily soothed just by holding & nursing him.  I couldn't do that for him in this
