National Wear Red Day #GoRedSelfie

Today is  National Wear Red Day. What are you wearing? Today is a reminder and a way to increase awareness. I am encouraged to live a heart-healthy life. Not just today but for the rest of my life.

Heart disease and stroke KILL 1 in 3 women, yet it's 80% preventable. It's NOT just a man's disease. In fact more women than men die every year from heart disease and stroke.  I for one have MANY women in my life that I love. Think of those around you and imagine IF 1 in 3 of them were to die from heart disease and stroke... I for one would be devastated! The good news: we can prevent this! I want to live a long and healthful life and work for that.  I am an older mom. My son is only 4 year old. I am on the verge of 44. I want to be around for him!

I took part and wore my red today! Sadly, I was the ONLY ONE in my office to do so! Here I am in my RED showing my support!  Taking selfies is not my favorite thing to do, in fact I think that selfies are HARD. In my show of support, I did it anyway! After a bazillion tries, I picked this one.

Let's take care of ourselves and the women we love. Pass it on!

As an added surprise, my friends at Collective Bias sent me a treat for my participation! A much appreciated Starbucks Gift Card!
