Cold & Flu Season | Get Well Little One

A rare sick day...
Is it cold & flu season already?! I haven't missed a single day at work due to personal illness since becoming Mommy a little over 2 years ago. I have miraculously become resistant to germs. Prior to becoming a mom, I used to catch every bug that would be floating around the office! NOT anymore! I have Mommy Super Powers now!  I think we all earn our capes and superpowers once we enter parenthood.  No time for mommy to be sick!

When our little one is under the weather, it just breaks my heart. Thankfully, our little guy rarely falls ill.  I am hoping for a speedy recovery.

Happy & Healthy!
Praying that this was the start and END of cold season for our little trooper!  He just started "school". It's a program for 24 to 36 month old children, he loves it! I think that is where he caught this bug that he has now. We are likely to miss his very first field trip to the Pumpkin Patch this Friday.  Hoping for the best.  Any mommy tips & tricks to keep the little ones comfy when they aren't feeling well? My trick is to hold him close - he can breathe easier and it's calming for both of us.

Stay healthy friends! I'm sending hugs to all of you that have been sneezed on, covered in baby snot, vomited on, and just so worn out with worry. Ironically it was just about this time last year that he suffered his first illness: Cold & Flu Season 2011.

First Day of School

  1. I hope he gets well soon. Whenever my little one gets sick, I sometimes pray that God transfers whatever she has to me, and let me suffer instead. Yes, it's so heartbreaking to see our kids in pain.

  2. Ugh. So hard when little ones are sick. Harder for us to have to take care of them, yet try to stay well. Hope he gets well soon!! Have you tried using a humidifier in his room at night? Prop him up on several pillows so he can breathe...

  3. @Pepper Tan - Thank you. I wish I could transfer the suffering to me instead of him too...

@Melanie M - Must be even harder when you have more than one child. We have a humidifier and it helps. He just gets extra clingy and crawls up into my lap.

  4. What a little cutie! He's getting so big! Hope he feels better soon. My little guy came down with a sore throat and runny nose tonight, too. We also use a humidifier in his room that you pour vapor-rub-type medicine into so it goes into the air. We give him ibuprofen for his throat pain, but that's about as much as you can do medication-wise when they're that little. In the meantime, enjoy the extra snuggles!

  6. Hope he gets well soon. My kids too are down with the cough and cold and it's no joke taking care of 3 sick kids.

  7. I hold my little one close when he's sick too, and it does help us both, you're right. That mommy touch. :)

Sorry you're little one's down and out for a bit. I hope he's feeling better soon.

Hurray that he likes school. The picture of you guys there is great! Crossing my fingers he's ok in time for the field trip.

  10. I remember when I actually got incredibly sick with the flu and it was horrible because I couldn't take care of my kids. I tried to, but I literally couldn't do it. Luckily, a dear friend of mine came and pitched in for me. Hope your little guy is feeling better!
