Balloon Animals Gone WILD

Balloon animals sure have evolved since my childhood. Lately, my husband & I have seen some amazing work: Spiderman, Captain America, Disney characters... you name it! They really are works of art! Balloon artists have a tougher job these days! When I was kid (many, many moons ago) the best that we would get is something that somewhat resembled a poodle. Perhaps a giraffe, but nothing any more complex than that.   Just thinking about it reminds me of the scene from Wedding Crashers. Do you all remember when the boy demands a bicycle during the reception?!

Who's hiring a clown or balloon artist for an upcoming party? I'm going to have to do some research on the cost to hire one!  Either that, or learn balloon art!

At a recent party our son wanted a dinosaur, so the balloon artist made him one. He couldn't quite deliver the Triceratops that our son wanted but our little guy was not disappointed. His dinosaur balloon had eyeballs and TEETH! The ferocious growl was courtesy of our snarling 2 year old!  It was so fun watching him play with his new dino friend. The whole while I'm hoping quietly to myself that it doesn't pop!

What are some of the amazing balloon art creations that you have seen?

  1. Oh there are some crazy things those balloon artists can make these days. It's come a long way from just the typical dog, sword, bow n arrows..etc. I've gotten several Hello Kitty balloons made for me. And this past weekend at the Kids Expo there was a company that made an entire background scene of Angry Birds!! http://i1206.photobucket.com/albums/bb447/Melanie_McMaster/IMG_0123_zpsd5cb3515.jpg

  10. Not appropriate for children's party but at this Drag Queen restaurant in NY Called lips - they made vaginas with hair, lips and tongues, penises and more out of balloons. i thought that was pretty impressive. I wouldn't recommend that for your children's party but thought it was cool to share. :)
