Do you hit like a girl? Soon I'll be able to "Hit Like a Girl" - sounds fun right?! I just wanted to let you all know that I didn't win the Rue Lala #Shoelala contest that I blogged about. Oh well. It wasn't meant to be. On the upside, I did WIN some gear from Everlast & FitStudio! Woo-hoo! How did I win? I participated in a Twitter Chat all about Fighting for Fitness – Boxing for Beginners. It was a fun chat with fitness experts, Everlast, and FitStudio. Soon I'll be able to "Hit Like a Girl" - sounds fun right?! Oh, I said that already! I guess I'm just excited about winning a prize that so happens to be something that will help me to get fit! After losing the baby weight (and then some) I am determined to get into better shape! I've been able to take off the weight & keep it off for going on over 2 years but I don't feel as FIT as I could be! I'm on the right road though!
I am going to have to hit up my girl Jenn who blogs at Lily Boxing for some tips and workout routines! She has been an inspiration of mine for a couple of years now! Here I am 55+ lbs less than I was when I first made a connection with this lady and her blog! I need to take it up a notch and get some tone on!
My SIL has similar gloves/wrap so maybe I'll ask her where she works out and team up! Hubby has a heavy bag and once we find a place with more space we can set that up and work out together.
So, what workout are you doing, loving, or wanting to try?
Well, kudos to you for starting a workout to lose weight. You should be proud of yourself, most people are trying to stay on track with their New Years resolution - mine out the window, hahaha, just kidding. But keep up the good work :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Barbara! Bikram Yoga is more my pace, but with the new incentive from my chat & free prize - I really am motivated to try something new. :)
ReplyDeleteCynthia.. LOVE your new gift! Did you know that boxing is great for the figure! Grace, peace and blessings!
ReplyDeleteHi Carla! I just hope it doesn't cost an arm & a leg! :)
ReplyDeleteVery nice gloves-- I was working out with a bag and a speed bag they were my favorites- working your legs, core and arms.
ReplyDeletePink gloves, I love it! I bet there's videos out there too, that you can rent (try before you buy theory) to do workouts w/the gloves.
ReplyDeleteMy son and his wife do the Insanity workout together. I alternate between Tae Bo dvd's (don't laugh, I still like them, lol) and running on the treadmill.
I took a mild interest in the Zumba....hope I didn't butcher the spelling) craze, but never did try it out.
Good luck w/whatever your new plan will be.
@ReviewsSheROTE Pamela R That is exactly what I am targeting: working your legs, core and arms.
ReplyDelete@mail4rosey I considered Zumba myself, but I have 2 left feet & it wouldn't be pretty! I like your "try before you buy" tip. I will do that before signing up for classes/gym. My problem with working out at home is that there are too many distractions. I tried yoga video at home only to have my toddler climb all over me. :)
I've always heard boxing was a fantastic exercise, I need to give it a try. Good luck to you!
ReplyDeleteCynthia... I know I already commented... but I just can't help it lol! I know you'll do great!!! Congrats again!!! Grace, Peace and Blessings!
ReplyDeleteI got in to the Beachbody series of workouts for a while there - p90x, Insanity and Brazilian Butt Lift. But I've never really gotten in to the kickboxing or boxing stuff. How great that you've found something powerful to get in to!
ReplyDeleteWho's more awesome than you? I'm so happy for how far you've come and thrilled you've kept me in the loop! Get it girl!! <3
ReplyDeleteNice!! Congrats on your win...sounds like you are gonna have fun learning how to hit! lol
ReplyDeleteWow, I'd love to hear how it goes. I'm so intimidated by that kind of workout. i'm an elliptical girl and rarely stray. Congrats!
ReplyDeletePink boxing gloves. If I ever try boxing, they will definitely have to be pink. I admire your willingness to try boxing. I'm a street fighter. I'll just push you to the ground, sit on your chest and go to town, at least that's what I used to do when I was a kid. It worked quite well. Hehe! Can't wait to hear how this workout goes for you. I'm a keep-it-simple kinda girl. I walk my dogs. The end. Happy for now, though.
ReplyDeleteWow, congrats! :) I have been thinking about getting into boxing myself. With pink gloves like that, I'm definitely in! Seriously, I just have to look for a boxing gym nearby- and probably a workout buddy :)
