Toddler Talk

Have any of you seen this video about Toddlers from What to Expect When You're Expecting author Heidi Murkoff?  I wonder how many of us have this book?  Mine was gifted to me from my sister in law who had it passed on to her from our cousin who received it as a baby shower gift.

Maybe toddlers have it all figured out? Check out the video and let me know what you think. I like: Eat when you're hungry. Stop when you're full. That's me - just like a toddler. I'm not comfortable "letting it all hang out" though like a toddler might.

I also had a need to share this video because my nephew is in it! Check out our little guy in the green T-shirt!

I've decided to "embrace my inner toddler"!  Please share your toddler stories!  I'd love it if you would leave a link to your toddler posts via comment so that I can read all about it!  Our little boy is on the verge of toddler-hood and I am excited to learn from all of you more experienced Mommies!

  1. Thing1 : "I have a penis Mommy."
    Me: "Yes you do."
Thing 1: "Daddy has a penis and Levi has a penis."
    Me: "Uh huh."
Thing 1: "You don't have a penis Mommy."
Me: "Because Mommies don't have penises, honey."

Thing 1: "That's okay Mommy, we'll go to Wal-Mart and go get you a penis."

  2. @Miranda That is hilarious! Our nearly 1 yr old discovered his man parts quite a while ago - I'm sure I'll be hearing more on that topic! Aww...Thing 1 didn't want mommy to feel left out! Sweet. We need to start a blog post on the things our toddlers say.

  3. I definitely agree!! My children are comedians. I'm sure that I could exploit their humor for a paycheck. We should do it!

  4. The main thing I have to say about tots is that 3 is the new Terrible Twos. Every mom that gets to this phase of toddlerdom is unnecessarily surprised, which is why I'm giving you this head's up.

  5. @ Ado THANK YOU for the heads up! I can always count on you. :) Hopefully I'll still be maintaining my blog when our guy is 3. I wonder how bringing baby #2 into the mix would be hobby-blog-wise? Hmm...an infant AND a toddler? People do that right??! Not saying I'm prego or plan on being prego. Just saying...

  6. I distinctly remember when my eldest was a toddler, I'd always catch his hands in his pants. While he was watching TV, eating, and even sleeping. He's 6 years old now, and I still catch him every now and then. I guess some things never change.
