Too good not to share

Related Blog: Blog Snob

I have never re-posted but this was too good not to share.  I have attached a blog post  from a new found blog friend. Both her post as well as the comments from her readers speak volumes.

I am not new to blogging, but I am new to Mommy Blogging.  It's a whole different ball game with mommy blogging that's for sure! In my brief experience with "Mom Blog" communities I had discovered that you don't find many true readers & commenters as you would in the typical blog arena (which I am more accustomed to).  Instead, you have hoarders of followers that stalk new members and plead for a follow.  I felt like I jumped into a tank full of piranhas. At first. Now that I have found a few ladies that "get me", It's a much nicer place to be.

If you are new to blogging this is a wonderful lesson on blog etiquette.

Thank you !

I am no longer feeling like a Blog Snob. I am NOT alone. Hooray!

  1. Oh my mama- you have me in tears over here! Thank you so much.

I have learned that mommy blogging can be an amazing experience with awesome support... but you do have the handful of greedy "I have to get as many followers as possible" bloggers out there. Also, it is ok to delete them and move on (I do have to admit, the first time I deleted a spam comment I felt so naughty...hey, I'm with toddlers all day naughty is the only word that came to mind...

I really feel as though I have connected with you mama and look forward to you being "full-time" again.

  3. @Stacey: Thanks but no thanks. I was a follower of yours long before you posted this comment, I deleted your first one on a prior post. BTW it said exactly the SAME thing. I guess you were too busy to notice that I was already following you - I had even left a few heartfelt comments. I have since UN-followed. Please do not spam any more of my posts. You had also copied & pasted this same exact message on my other blog Happy Wife, Happy Life". I know you won't get this message since you probably will never truly read any of my blog posts. Again, thank you for the invite BUT I am going to graciously decline. This time I won't delete your post. BTW, you never did follow, you "forgot" to click the follow button & NEVER appeared as a reader of my blog. I'm sure you didn't mean to lie to me. I just wanted to let you know so that you can avoid future embarrassment if you accidentally tell someone that you are following, when you are really not.

  4. @mommysankey It's funny, the 1st spam "copy & paste" follow me request that I deleted is the same girl that posted the comment below yours. I felt bad doing it, but now I sure don't! I said buh-bye and Un-followed. She'll never notice.

The feeling is mutual! I too feel a blog connection! Yay!

  5. (I'm a new blogger.) It really was a useful post - now I'm dreading all the mommy-spam "follow me's" in the future, but at least I know why I felt so creeped out by all of the "follow me/I'll follow you's" I've started to get. Thanks (-:

  6. @Ado Thank you for your comment and I am glad that you found the post helpful. I have checked out your blog and must say that I LOVE it! I'm so glad that I will have something great to read once I am off my internet ban. People should just have faith in their blogs. If it's worth reading people will naturally follow. You won't need to convince someone to by asking for a follow. :)

  7. oh cynthia! i have only received one "spammy" comment and i literally threw up in my mouth a little. i really got mad. i was thinking "really? did that person just really put their effing giveaway crap on my comment section???" gah! she has not come back, so i have not deleted her...yet. so, i hate to say that i'm glad i'm not the only one, but i am cuz now i know it's not just me! what is it with this "scratch my back and i'll scratch yours" crap? i'm sorry, if your blog doesn't strike me, i won't read it. i just won't. i mean, i don't expect ppl to read mine if they don't like it...i'm not getting paid, it's something i enjoy doing.

anyway, thanks for being real. it's like YES! finally! someone who feels the same way! i mean, yes, at first i was being sucked into following people because they followed me. but now? i will check out their blog if they have followed me. if i like them, i will follow them. and if i really like them, i'll add them to my list on my home page.

anyway...way to keep it real!! =)

  8. you know what??? i have not deleted her because i was waiting to see if she'd even comment on another post...if she'd even read a post and leave a meaningful comment. if she doesn't...i shall delete her...or better yet. i don't even think i'm following her. i think i'm going to go check now. gah, i do not like bloggers who just want numbers. i want readers...real readers who interact with me.

ok, off to follow you =) and to finish my vb reads =)
