January 2014 Health and Fitness in My Forties

I am checking in to let you all know that I am alive and well.  I've missed blogging. I've been recovering from being ill. I have so much blog about and am bursting at the seams to get back to it!  I hope that the Holiday season was wonderful for you.  We have quite a bit of catching up to do!

How many of you have made some sort of fitness resolution this year?  I've never really been one to make resolutions but this year I need to make health and fitness my priority. I'm approaching year 43!

Today I got off of my butt during a break at work.  I went for a nice walk then ran some stairs!  I am eliminating the excuse that I have been using for far too long: I just don't have time to get to the gym.  Bonus: No crowds = no waiting for a stair machine.

I need the exercise to get me out of the funk that I have been in.  I have some Groupons to dust off so I'll be chatting soon about my Yoga, Pilates, and work day walk adventures.  I know that so many of us make plans to start the year off with health and fitness goals. I admit that I am one of those folks.  What struck a chord with me was a chat that I had with our 3 year old son.  One afternoon he looked and me and said that he didn't want me to get old. I didn't have the heart to tell him that I am already pretty old in comparison to most mommies with 3 year old children. I'm 42. I'm going to fight the aging process as much as I can. I'm fighting to stay young, healthy, and fit. I'm going to work for my son's wish for me to stay young.  I'd love to know what motivates YOU.
