A Boy, His Mommy, and Her Mommy | Wordless Wednesday Post

On my Mom's Birthday.  Any guesses on her age?

Sweet Success!

On Friday we had a party for my brother in law. Instead of a traditional birthday cake we had  Sprinkles  cupcakes! I SO wanted to dive into a chocolate one. I stuck with my weight loss goals & walked away from the temptation. I am becoming a willpower ninja these days! I didn't dance off any calories with the Xbox Kinect, but avoiding the sweets was enough for me. Once upon a time chocolate was one of my weaknesses.  NOT anymore!  I just remind myself of how much weight I've lost...that really helps make it much easier.  NOW, I just have to get myself back into the gym and yoga studio!

Weekend Fun

After what feels like an extra LONG week at work, I am so READY for some weekend fun. It's Friday night - I'm sure the time between now and Monday will fly by WAY too fast. Tonight my husband, son, and I are headed to an Xbox Kinect party in celebration of my brother in law's birthday. It will be a house full of kids so I am resting up for that. Seven little boys ranging in age from around 7 months to 7 years. Oh help me. We are winging it for our Saturday fun. Most likely fun will equal laundry and housecleaning. You too? Sunday is my favorite day. Church always refreshes me and preps me for the tough "working mom" week ahead. What are YOUR fun weekend plans?

2012 So Far

So far, so good here in 2012!  Everything has been going smoothly.  I hope that 2012 (so far) is treating you well also. No one has been ill - which is a huge blessing.  One sick family member always seems to lead to the whole household being ill!  Keeping hopeful that this healthy state lasts!   We are being more mindful of our eating habits and taking better care of ourselves overall.  I've even cut fast food from my diet .   Work has been going well.  I'll be celebrating my 5 year anniversary at the company that I am at.  Thankful to be employed as many aren't. Family life is blessed.  My husband and I are amazed with how much our son is growing and thriving!  We feel lucky everyday. Saving has been a primary focus for me this year.  I haven't bought any unnecessary items and since I've cut out the daily work lunch fast food run - it's quickly starting to add up! I'm blogging more often now which really is a great feeling.  I just have to &q

Dancing With Our Son

Happy, Healthy, and Wealthy in 2012? Could a Home Energy Assessment Help?

This post brought to you by Santa Clara County’s 80% Home Energy Assessment Rebate . All opinions are 100% mine. I hope this post reaches friends & family in Santa Clara County.  I think other counties should consider doing something similar! I was looking into a home energy assessment  because our tax preparer asks us every year whether we've made upgrades to our home to make it more energy efficient.  Many items can be considered as a tax deduction.    Not only that, but it could also lead to lower utility bills! Consider the following questions: Are your monthly energy bills giving you a headache? Do certain rooms in your home give you a chill? When was the last time you scheduled a check-up for your water heater? With an assessment you can find out how to can make your home more healthy & comfortable as well as save money on your utility bills.  Since becoming parents last year, we try as much as we can to save money and to keep our home safe and health
